A two-time winner at the 2008 FRIMAT awards and a participant at last years Francouvertes, Chantal Archambault is a singer songwriter hailing from Val-D’or in the Abittibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec. Her catalogue of music is an assortment of rich texts filled with imagery carried by a luscious country-folk vibe. It was in 2007 that Chantal made her first appearance on the Quebec music scene with a self-produced album called Le collage. The authenticity and charm of this first album immediately grabbed music lovers’ attention, amongst them was notable singer songwriter and producer Dany Placard who teamed up with Chantal to realize her second full length album which was released at this year’s FME. La romance des couteaux is a masterpiece where words and music contrast and collide to create genuinely touching human stories.
